If you want to create a movie with your pictures, you should not waste your time with advanced programs, because their functions are too complicated for such a simple task. With PhotoFilmStrip, you may create high quality videos, with your pictures, as fast as possible. You just need to load your images, make a few basic settings and start rendering.

PhotoFilmStrip works on Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7 and Linux. The application is written in Python (2.5), so you can run it on other platforms as well. You will find only a few basic options, during the setup process and it will take a few seconds to install the application on your computer.

When you start the software, its interface will display a welcome screen, with two options, for creating a new project or opening an existing one. PhotoFilmStrip lets you work on multiple projects, at the same time. Your projects, as well as the welcome screen, will be available at all times, on different tabs. To help you get started, the options for importing pictures, loading or creating a project are illustrated by large icons, which are placed in the center of the window.

Imported images are listed horizontally, as thumbnails, on the lower half of the interface. You can change their order by dragging and dropping them in different positions and use a series of options, to configure your slideshow. The software lets you set different durations for slides and transition effects, rotate your pictures, add Sepia or black and white effects and insert subtitles for each slide.

Two previews are displayed, side by side, for the same image, on the upper half of the interface. You can use them to define a motion path. Simply resize and move a rectangle, on each preview, to set the start and end positions. Alternatively, you can insert specific location and size values, on a separate window or click an option to set random positions. You can render your project as PAL or NTSC, using various formats and qualities. You will be pleased to know that PhotoFilmStrip is capable of rendering your slideshow in full HD.

Pros

The application lets you create a video, with your pictures, in a few simple steps. You may customize your slideshow, add a few effects and export it, using various formats and qualities. Moreover, PhotoFilmStrip makes it possible to open or create multiple projects, on separate tabs.

Cons

The number of available effects may not satisfy your needs. Besides that, you can not preview the slideshow, before exporting. Due to PhotoFilmStrip's simple interface and easy to understand functions, anyone may create high quality videos with his pictures.
